tool time: dani k does it herself...

not all by herself of course! last sunday we (lukas, karin, martin, martin, dipl.ing. binder, and last but not least fr. binder) had the pleasure to help michi moving into her new flat which is in deed striking.
alas, as i learned yesterday: there is no free lunch.

meaning:
michi rents this gorgeous place...what a bargain! .... and all she needs to do is: move in.

no no...

it's not done with just painting the walls. you need to scratch off the hunderts of layers of old paint first (altbau). and this is what we did for hours. with big spachteln and smaller spachteln. producing dirt beyond compare ... well at least as far as the members of michi's working team had experience.

we haven't finished. it looks disastrous. but yesterday: michi and lukas have left for chile.

in a month "team östtereich" (have a look on the soon coming pictures) will resume work.

at least now i know why i have been keeping tons of old newspapers. and probably the editor of zeit knows that everybody has to paint walls and scratch off paint from time to time. thus the large format.

there is also no free lunch for michi: team österreich expects a house warming party. so much for that.

and even more spare time stress: vienne has visitors from greece: master and apprentice: george zoupanos and athanasios chatzistavrakidis.

but this story is to be continued some other time...

vorzeichenjagd

eine bezahlte möglichkeit unendlich viel zeit zu verschwenden. dafür hab ich studiert.

vorzeichen, ich verfluche sie.

weiland als es noch keine negativen zahlen gab, wusste man das wahrscheinlich gar nicht zu schätzen.
weiland als euklid noch in der flachsten aller welten rechnete, die man sich denken kann.... zeit, raum ollas ans. puls eins wohlgemerkt.

manchmal sind vorzeichen irrelevant. konvention. manchmal nicht. manchmal sind sie ausschlaggebend.

heute nachmittag sitze ich mal wieder und suche ein minus. allein ich find es nicht. alles wäre gut, wenn nur dieses eine kleine minus
vorhanden wäre. aber es gab schon einen fortschritt. mittlerweile ist nur mehr ein vorzeichen falsch.

ich kann ja auch eins hineinschummeln. meine eigenen vorzeichenregeln anwenden: vorzeichen können nach
belieben hinzugefügt werden. wer minüsse gerne mag, nimmt minüsse und positivisten nehmen plüsse.

oder man schießt sie einfach alle ab.

which brings me to today's topic: i still haven't bought a vienne guide book. and i really need one. many visitors and every time the same question: how are they ought to be entertained?
this is to be added to the list: life's problems that can be solved immediately - in principal.

so question to the viennese: how do you keep your visitors busy?

one should maybe mention that i have already had visitors that didn't like vienna. and they even told me so. zezezzezeze. was it my fault? probably in some sense.

don't go to hawelka for coffee and cake: since the old lady passed away, the cake is definitely not worth it and 8,10 euro is ridiculous.

i haven't taken the subway for quite a while that early. now i can remember what's the real reason behind that: working people going to work at 7.30. ieeee....
