supervising thanasis

during the last two weeks thanasis was visting vienna along with his supervisor (who pays lots of attention on what his student is doing.)
we managed, however, to go to the zoo which was on top of his sightseeing list (well, that was actually the only thing he wanted to see for sure). i haven't been in schönbrunn for years (the last time i went there to see the little elefphant baby abu that later killed his keeper. but then abu was absolutely gorgeous).
i hope thanasis shares my judgement: the zoo is indeed a very good place to go. i love it. especially i love: the penguins, the orang-utans, the tigers, the gepard (my favourite) and all the other big cats. and last but not least the hippo since it is only half a scary meter a way from you. thrilling.

spare time stress goes on: wien modern.
my sphere-companion is introducing me into contemporary music to which wien modern festival is dedicated. i can already realise the change: at the beginning the only comment on such a concert would be: interesting.
by now i can even like and dislike a piece. and i am fascinated.
i am wondering why this kind of music is quite unkown in comparison to, e.g. abstract paintings.

tomorrow the noncommutative community will meet again: this time zagreb.

i ought to install a mircophone in my office. creaky sounds due to wind and rain. end of the world. i better go now.
