le fin de d à l' ambassade.

17 blog entries later ... d's intership career is almost done. two more days: monday and tuesday.

that was fast.

last short stories from le monde diplomatique:

last monday: bridges lecture: norm neureiter on S&T policy organised by our office. it was a lot of work but the talk/conversation turned out to be a great evening. i went outside 4 times to steal some branches from trees near the embassy for decoration. my hands were full of resin (harz).

wednesday: the christmas dinner of the office of science and technology ... tapas.. yammy yammay. paella. and 4 pitchers of white sangria.

thursday: party at the french embassy due to the end of their EU presidency. that was .... wow .... war at the buffet. i have never seen anything like that. geez. people were pushing like crazy. a big french man bumped into me spilling red wine all over me and he did not even apologize. pa! red wine was disappointing.

friday: my boss and me wanted to go to a lecture. d wrote down the wrong tiem. we were too late. d really screwed this up and apoligizes. i am so sorry.
glueck im umglueck: d got to see condi rice. she looks like she is training soldiers 24/7. later: christmas party at the austrian embassy.

after weeks like that in some way it feels totally absurd that i should go back to pencil and paper and equations in january.

.:. .:. .:.
last week i was mainly busy with uploading stuff for our magazine.
i am pretty confident that next week (i guess on monday) our bridges will go online and you can read two fantastic contributions by d. or listen to the podcasts ... fancy ...

on december 26 d will be whole again. glueck arrives in dc and takes me to cape cod.
